Since 1990, the Center for Architecture Foundation has been at the forefront of design education with Learning by Design: NY and Programs@theCenter.

These programs foster student's skills in observation, critical thinking, visual literacy, problem solving and creativity through architecture and design education.
Using the built environment as a source for interdisciplinary study, students explore relevant themes of a sustainable city and envision their dreams for the future.

Based at the Center for Architecture located in Greenwich Village, just south of Washington Square Park, the Center for Architecture Foundation was established in 1966 by the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter, to promote public awareness and a broader appreciation of the impact of architecture, design and planning in the built environment, principally through educational programs, activities and scholarship.
