Studio@theCenter February 2010 Vacation Programs: City Design (2 - 5 gr) & Digital Design (6 - 12 gr)

3-day design programs for kids in grades 2 - 12 during school break.

When: 9:00 AM TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16 - 4:00 PM THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18

 

Programs run 9 AM - 4 PM daily at the Center for Architecture. Tuition is $225 for each 3-day program. 
Students bring lunch daily.

City Design (Grades 2 - 5): Program Full

register instead for our March 30 - April 1 Theater Design program

During this  vacation program, students will learn about building types, zoning and urban design issues through hands-on projects at the Center for Architecture and a trip to the Panorama model of NYC at the Queens Museum of Art. As a group, students will then build their own 3-D model of an ideal city, incorporating their visions for the future. Program is limited to 18 students. 

 

Digital Design (Grades 6 - 12): Program Full

register instead for our March 30 - April 1 Digital Design program

In this 3-day program held in the Center's computer lab, students in 6th - 12th grade will learn how to create their own 3D architectural designs using Google Sketch-Up. Students will also do some hand drawing and model making to help them connect their digital designs to the real world.  Program is limited to 8 students to allow for individualized instruction and pacing.
