House of the Future (Grades 2 - 5):
Students in this vacation studio will investigate how housing has changed over the years and what’s in store for the future. The group will visit the 175-year old Merchant’s House Museum for a window into how people lived in the past, explore housing today and speculate about what elements will be most changed in 100 years. As their culminating project, students will design and build their own models of a house of the future. Program is limited to 18 students.
Digital Design (Grades 6 - 12):
In this 3-day program held in the Center's computer lab, students in 6th - 12th grade will learn how to create their own 3D architectural designs using Google Sketch-Up. Students will also do some hand drawing and model making to help them connect their digital designs to the real world. Program is limited to 10 students to allow for individualized instruction and pacing.
