Learning By Design:NY - In-School Residencies
Learning By Design:NY provides school-based K-12 residency programs and professional development workshops to students and teachers.
Working closely with classroom teachers to create a custom program, we use architecture and design as a vehicle for fostering learning and discovery across core subject areas, employing visual tools and activities to inspire creative thinking and problem-solving. Activities include arts-based projects, site visits, neighborhood walks, student presentations and design challenges.
Our talented roster of educators bring their extensive design studio and classroom experience to each residency, along with their passions in areas such as architectural design, historic preservation, landscape architecture and zoo design, carpentry and woodworking, photography and architectural history.
